From the desk of Mike Davis, I’m a member of the 1988 World Champions Dodgers. During game 1 of the 1988 World Series, I walked right before Kirk Gibson, hit the homerun that gave us the victory and momentum to take the World Championship. Who knew that twenty years later it would become one of baseball’s most remembered moments. After two knee surgeries, my baseball career ended a few years after that and another career began. I became a business man with no experience. We had 9 retail stores across the country and the business was out of control. We had merchandise going into the stores, merchandise leaving the stores and the cash registers would never ring. My Partner and I went through a learning process and a couple of million dollars I and lost my shirt In baseball, if you fail 70% of time at bat, they will still pay you a million dollars. In business, you must do better than that just to break even. I continued to try and succeed at business two more times to little or no avail. I learned some very hard and costly lessons. I lost money in business because I didn't have the mind-set or the skill-set it took to a successful business owner. Thank God, I found a company that would teach me how to be a successful entrepreneur. Now I'm the one teaching people how to become successful.
